As part of their history studies into the Holocaust and the Second World War, Y9 students made the trip to the memorial sites of Lidice and Terezín on Tuesday. The visits provided students with a deeper understanding of the actions of the Nazi government in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the crimes of the Holocaust. Despite the treacherous winter conditions, students were given guided tours at both sites. The students conducted themselves with great maturity and showed a real interest in the subject, despite the sombre nature of the visit. As part of their studies, the students will follow up the visit with learning activities in class before Holocaust Memorial Day on Saturday 27th January.
