For the past five years, I have been engaged in teaching Science across various schools, including 2.5 years in schools in England and 2.5 years in an international school in Thailand. My teaching experience spans across primary, all secondary age groups, and higher with a particular focus on developing inquiry-based learning strategies in alignment with both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge IGCSE curricula. I am passionate about fostering a curiosity-driven approach to Science, where students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and explore concepts beyond their lessons and the textbook.
As a Science educator, I believe in the power of inquiry based learning. My lessons are designed to be dynamic and interactive, incorporating laboratory experiments, fieldwork, and technology to bring scientific concepts to life. I aim to create an environment where students feel empowered to take ownership of their own learning and where the aim is the joy of discovery at the forefront. I am committed to using formative and summative assessments to guide instruction, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.
In addition to my classroom responsibilities, I have taken on the role of Science Coordinator in my previous school, where I led initiatives to integrate cross-disciplinary projects and promote STEM education, running science week and science related opportunities across the school for students to participate in. I have also organised and led various extracurricular activities, such as a Science based practical club, astronomy club, camping and scratch club. My goal is to inspire students to see the relevance of Science in their everyday lives and to encourage them to pursue careers in STEM fields.
At Science Park Lane, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the school’s thriving science program and to collaborate with fellow educators in creating a vibrant learning community for all our students.
On a personal note, I love animals and nature. I have previously spent weekends hiking and exploring nature, which fuels my enthusiasm for environmental science and sustainability. I am also an avid reader and enjoy reading up on scientific discoveries and educational practices.
