Originally from Nottinghamshire in the UK, my interest in primary teaching developed during my undergraduate degree, studying French Language and Linguistics at the University of York. During this time I had the opportunity to live and work in France, teaching English to children across the primary age range. Following the completion of my degree I went on to study a primary PGCE specializing in Modern Foreign Languages at Canterbury Christ Church University and particularly enjoyed visiting schools in France and the UK in order to compare the effects of language learning on intercultural understanding. In 2013 I began my teaching career in a large inner-London primary school.
Throughout my teaching career I have particularly enjoyed celebrating the rich learning experiences that arise from being part of a culturally diverse environment. After three years I have decided to move into the international education sector and I am very much looking forward to embracing the welcoming, culturally diverse community that is cultivated at Park Lane.
