As a dual citizen of the United States and the Czech Republic, and having grown up as a third-culture kid, I have had the privilege of traveling the world and immersing myself in diverse international schools across Uganda, Tbilisi, Jordan, and Cyprus (to name a few!). These rich experiences have shaped my identity as an individual and an educator. I deeply understand the challenges of being an impressionable student in a foreign country with an unfamiliar language and culture. This personal journey has fueled my passion for teaching English as an additional language and helping students build the confidence I once sought at their age.
Growing up in the international community, I developed a genuine passion for learning, and I am dedicated to sharing this enthusiasm with my students. Becoming an EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher is a natural extension of my life experiences and values. After graduating from Riverside International School of Prague, I pursued this passion further by studying abroad in the Netherlands, where I trained as a primary school teacher with an international focus.
This summer, I took an essential step in my professional journey by earning a TEFL certification from TEFL.org, an accredited UK-based organisation. This qualification allows me to teach adults and children English as a foreign language, aligning perfectly with my commitment to fostering language acquisition and cross-cultural understanding.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading niche and classic literature, cooking, and watching true crime documentaries.
