On Friday 18th February the MFL department organised an international Mardi Gras, where students were able to learn about the origins and the different types of Mardi-Gras celebrations across the world.
In French and Spanish classes we researched the origins of the celebration, the ways it is celebrated in French and Spanish speaking countries. However, in German classes we put our research into practice and got to experience “Weiberfastnacht, or Kiss for Your Tie!” as well as eating Krapfen.
We thank everyone who made an effort to look the part. You were superb! The competition was fierce and
here are the winners of the Mardi Gras best outfit competition.
