We are honoured to invite our Park Lane community to a significant upcoming event at our Klárov campus, commemorating the bravery of resistance fighters during World War II.

On Saturday, 26th October 2024, a traditional requiem mass will take place at 10:00 AM at St. Vitus Cathedral to honor the resistance fighters executed on 24th October 1942. This will be followed by the unveiling of a new memorial plaque at 1:00 PM at Klárov, where the heroines of the Second Resistance, sisters Marie KOVÁRNÍKOVÁ and Ludmila SOUKUPOVÁ, lived before their arrest.

Marie and Ludmila were among the closest collaborators of Operation ANTHROPOID, providing critical intelligence to Czech resistance fighters Jan Kubiš and Jozef Gabčík that led to the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. Despite brutal Gestapo interrogations, the sisters never betrayed their allies, demonstrating extraordinary courage before their execution in Mauthausen.

This event serves as a powerful reminder of their sacrifice and the enduring legacy of the Czech resistance.

We encourage all students and families to join us in remembering these heroes of history.
