Friday 21st April was an important date in the year 13 calendar, as it marked the last day of formal lessons for our Year 13 students at Park Lane; they are now on study leave preparing for their final IB examinations.
To mark the day a farewell picnic was organised for the students, which was an opportunity for teachers to pass on their good luck messages and farewells to Year 13. This year the event took place at the Úvoz site and with the first real signs of Spring we all enjoyed the sunshine on the Bistro terrace. After a few ‘fun awards’ and some light refreshments it was time for teachers and students to say their goodbyes. It was an indication of how well respected and liked the year 13 pupils are, that a number of teachers who have taught the students over the last 7 years came to the event. As the event was coming to a close the realisation hit the students with many thinking back and reflecting on their time at the school. The students have been part of Park Lane from anything between 1 – 12 years, with one student Nathalie V. who has been with us for 16.5 years, having joined the Nessie site just before she turned 2 years old. So with photos taken and tears shed it is with the fondest of memories that we wish all of the year 13 pupils the best of luck for their upcoming exams and we look forward to celebrating with them at the graduation ball.
A few photos from the event are here.
