Between the 4th and 6th of April, our Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award participants spent 2 and 3 days respectively trekking in the Slapy region. The Bronze students had their first taste of an overnight camp and carrying all their food and equipment for a self sufficient weekend. They planned the routes themselves and navigated through the countryside with a map and compass. The weather was beautiful, if a little cold and we all had a great time and learned new skills.

This was their training trip, preparing for their assessed expedition where the students will be trekking in the České Švýcarsko region in June. Watch this space for news of that exciting trip later this year.
