From a young age I was always drawn to the visual arts; drawing and painting was my first true passion, and I feel very fortunate that this has led me to a career teaching Art & Design. Working with young people within a creative environment, helping to nurture their talents and curiosity as they grow in confidence and skill to express their ideas and explore their own artistic instincts, is a fantastic way to spend each day.
My lessons are designed to give students the opportunity to explore a wide range of art practices, techniques and philosophies, learning about the art of cultures across the world and experimenting with various media, materials and equipment to advance their artistic knowledge and skills.
For the past 3 years I have taught at a secondary school in the UK, teaching both Art & Design and Design & Technology to children aged 11-16 years old, and previous to this I taught English as a foreign language in Japan and Vietnam, each for 1 year. I have been involved in many extracurricular activities in these roles, including trips abroad, trips to galleries and museums, and running lunchtime and after school clubs. I look forward to continuing this at Park Lane and to championing the creativity and imagination of its students.
