I hail from a state that is almost three times the size of the Czech Republic but has only about half of the population: Minnesota. Yet, my Czech connection is strong as my great-grandfather immigrated to the United States from a small village outside of Pilsen. Minnesota is known as the land of 10,000 lakes as it boasts more natural lakes than any other state; it even has a city called New Prague.
This fascination for geography and culture has not only driven my career choice but has afforded me the chance to live and teach abroad, the best of both worlds. After starting my teaching career in Germany, I moved to Prague and have lived and taught here for the last four years. I am looking forward to starting my sixth year of teaching and I am so glad to become part of the Park Lane community where I can share the importance of having a universal understanding of our planet and its systems to better prepare us to appreciate the topics that will impact our future.
