Year 8 students had the privilege of hearing from a guest speaker, an ADHD coach from Uniquely Wired Coaching (www.uniquelywiredcoaching.com). The coach works to provide young people and adults with valuable insights and strategies for understanding and navigating ADHD, a common difference in brain function.

This talk was an important part of the students’ PSHEE learning on neurodiversity, which also includes conditions like dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, and autism. Students learned about what these differences may look like, the unique strengths and challenges that come with them, and
helpful strategies for thriving in everyday life.

The three main takeaways were:

  • People experience the world in different ways, each with their own strengths and challenges.
  • Understanding ourselves and how we function helps us find the right tools to succeed.
  • With the right strategies, we can support ourselves and others to do well in school, work, and life

We are excited to continue fostering understanding and inclusion through these important discussions!
